Lanona Shoe Co. Sizing

Sizing for shoes and boots

We currently use three lasts: the Lanona 800, Summit, and Craftmaster. The 800 last has a slightly narrower toe box than the more rounded Summit and Craftmaster lasts. For sizing reference, we've developed a printable sizing guide that is based off of a Brannock device, enabling you the convenience of determining your size/width and converting these measurements to each of our lasts.

800 Last

Our handsewn 800 last has a slightly longer and narrower toe box shape with a higher heel lift, creating a sleek silhouette. In general, boots using the 800 last should fit on the snug side at first. The leather will stretch over time and form around the foot. If your width measurement is in the narrower to medium foot width area on our measuring device, consider ordering a half size below your measured foot length size. If your width measurement is in the wide to extra wide area, consider ordering your measured size. Please note, any width considerably below the narrow width line or beyond the extra wide line should consider a special order width.

Mastercraft Last

Our handsewn Mastercraft last has lineages from early New England handstitched brands and provides more of a rounded toe compared to the 800 last, giving it a classic look. Boots using the Mastercraft last should fit on the snug side at first. The leather will stretch over time and form around the foot. If your width measurement is in the narrower to medium foot width, consider ordering a half size below your measured foot length size. If your width measurement is in the wide to extra wide area, consider ordering your measured size. Please note, any width considerably below the narrow width line or beyond the extra wide line should consider a special order width.

Summit Last

Our Summit last has a fuller rounded toe for more comfortable everyday use, accommodates the option of a thicker wool sock for those crisp Minnesota winter days. The footwear that uses our Summit last will tend to have less stretching compared to the 800 and Mastercraft last due to a thicker liner and reinforced toe and heel area. If your width measurement is in the narrower to medium foot width, consider ordering a full to half size below your measured foot length size. If your width measurement is in the wide to extra wide area, consider ordering your measured size. Please note, any width considerably below the narrow width line or beyond the extra wide line should consider a special order width.
